Finally have time to organise more photos. This post is about Nikon. It is not my first camera but my first SLR was a Nikon FE, which is still around and working. In the museum I got to see a lot of classic Nikon which I will share with you here.
There was a cabinet full of Nikon cameras.
The Nikon range finder on top shelf, eventually develop into the first Nikon F
This is where Nikon getting into serious photography system, the Nikon SP with a 50mm lens f1.1
With the Nikon F most things were user adjust. Even if you want a light meter, it was a luxury to have those attachments.
These are Nikkorex, a forgotten line of "SLR" but not even sure if the lens is changeable.
Eventually F becomes the highly successful F2
This F2 with the special attachment has external motor to select the aperture, before automation in the F3
The F3 appeared and started "A" mode automation of F camera. Plus the EL if you cannot afford the F3.
In fact for most of us, instead of F line of Nikon, we had the Nikkormat. Manual camera, tough and strong and take Nikkor lenses. In HK, if you buy "water good" Nikkormat, you get the "Nikomat" Japanese version as seen in the second picture.
Nikon used to make a range of under water cameras, the Nikonos.
Some old pre AI and range finder lenses.
Early attempts of Nikon Speedlight.
Remember super 8 movie format? Here is the Nikon movie camera.
The F501 was the first mass market AF Nikon camera.
Hope you enjoy these photos! |
