NATIONAL ANTHEM - Spain 《La Marcha Real 皇家進行曲》
原是一首軍樂, 後來成為西班牙國歌, 至今仍沒有歌詞, 亦算是世界上最古老的國歌之一。
這國歌源自1761年之前的一首「格拉納達進行曲」(Marcha Granadera) 的軍樂, 作者不詳, 用於軍隊出征前演奏。1770年9月3日, King Carlos III 國皇卡路斯三世, 將此曲升格為「榮譽進行曲」(Marcha de Honor), 用於不同場合演奏, 但這樂曲引起很多爭議, 樂曲考究專家則指這樂曲是出自歐洲其他地方, 因為全無西班牙音樂的色彩。
1870年曾經舉辦過全新國歌創作比賽, 因沒有得到好的作品, 最後仍要保留原國歌。及後內戰期間, 曾一度被國内共和黨的勢力, 以 "Himno de Riego" 新樂曲填上歌詞取而代之, 但最終不敵獨裁的 General Francisco Franco 法朗歌將軍, 1942年决定回復原曲另加上歌詞為國歌, 至1975年法朗歌去世, 至1978年, 再改以新名字 "Himno Nacional Español" 並棄用歌詞, 作為法朗歌獨裁年代的終結, 給人民得以一些紓解 。1997年西班牙皇族收回國歌樂譜的版權, 决定國歌的執行方式, 下令國歌的長版本衹給國皇專用, 短的版本給皇子, 首相與不同的場合使用, 但仍以不同版本用於軍樂, 管絃樂, 風琴演奏, 以樂曲的長短, 音調的不同, 如 A-Major, A-Flat, B-Flat Major 之細分。
2016年奥運辦期間, 西班牙奥委會眼見英超利物浦的會歌 "You'll Never Walk alone" 之成功, 曾試將國歌 "Himno Nacional Español" 公開徵求歌詞, 但被眾多政客與首相 PM José Luis Rodríguez Zapatero 反對, 力指此風會令至 Basques 巴斯克, Catalans 卡太蘭 (巴塞隆那)與 Galicians 加利西亞, 這三大地域至更多的民族分化。這反對公佈後仍收到7,000多個參予者的國歌填詞作品, 雖全不被接受, 不過西班牙國內的不同自治城市皆早有自己的 (國歌)了。

NATIONAL ANTHEM - Qatar 《As Salam al Amiri - Peace be to the Amir》
曾經是最短又沒有歌詞的國歌, 要數的是在波斯灣沿岸, 兩個互為比鄰的巴林 Bahrain 和卡塔爾 Qatar 國歌了。巴林的國歌是七小節的號角聲, 卡塔爾的國歌雖然比巴林的國歌多三小節, 但每小節只有兩拍, 中間還休止了兩小節, 這就顯得更簡短了。
1995年6月26日，Khalifa bin Hamad Al Thani 酋長的兒子 Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani 趁他在瑞士日內瓦度假時發動不流血的宮廷政變, 廢黜他的政權而繼位, 並在位至今, 1996年重新將國歌撰上歌詞, 就是今天的 《As Salam al Amiri - Peace be to the Amir》。2001年, 卡塔爾同時與巴林及沙特阿拉伯解決了長久以來的邊界爭議。

《La Marseillaise 馬賽曲 》
又名 【馬賽進行曲】, 歌詞與樂譜皆出自一位小提琴家, 劇作家, 詩人, 歌唱家習一身的 Claude Joseph Rouget de Lisle 。
1792年4月25日晚上, 他在斯特拉斯堡 Strasbourg 的市長 Mayor Dietrich 家中與友人商談國事, 正因當時處於國家被侵略, 在激憤的心情之下, 他將樂曲與歌詞一口氣撰寫而成並即席高歌, 原名是 "Chant de guerre pour l'Armée du Rhin 萊茵軍團戰歌"。

"Chant de guerre pour l'Armée du Rhin 萊茵軍團戰歌"
歌詞是描繪當年法國被 Prussia 普魯士與 Austria 奧地利軍隊入侵, 此曲是献給仍在抗敵的 Marshal Nicolas Lucker 將軍與士兵, 歌曲完成後幾天, Strasbourg 這城市亦被敵軍入侵。同年7月30日, "National Guard of Marseille 馬賽志願軍" 前赴巴黎途中, 高吭這歌曲以激勵 Marshal Nicolas Luckner 將軍帶領軍隊的士氣, 因而得名為 "馬賽進行曲 La marseillaise" 很快繼而風行全法國。1795年7月14日法國政府宣布制定此曲為國歌。
1804-1815 拿破崙一世 Napoleon I 朝代的非正式國歌是 "Veillons au Salut de l'Empire", 其後至 Bourbon Restoration 1814-1830 波旁皇族復辟, 此曲被禁用至1830年七月革命過後, "馬賽曲"再次為人民傳唱再成為國歌, 並由著名音樂家 Hector Berlioz 白遼士再以管弦樂編曲, 自始成為後來官方指定的管弦樂版本。
1848-1852 拿破崙三世 Napoleon III 則採用 "Partant pour la Syrie" 為國歌, 及後的法蘭西第二帝國時期 French Second Empire 1852-1870, 仍未有指定的國歌。至1879年, 1946年以及1958年所通過的三部共和國憲法, 皆制訂 "馬賽曲 La Marseillaise" 再成為法蘭西共和國國歌。

菲律賓在美國統治期間, 英語成為法定語文, 原國歌理所當然要譯為英文, 經两次翻譯, 最後由 Mary A. Lane 與 Camillo Osias 議員的最後版本 "Philippine Hymn" 於1938年12月被國會制定憲法成為英文歌詞的國歌。1940年開始曾有不同以菲律賓 Tagalog 太加祿語演譯的歌詞有 "Diwa ng Bayan"(Spirit of the Country) 與 "O Sintang Lupa"(O Beloved Land) 。由於1942-1945年被日本入侵期間, 這两首均被禁用, 必需以日本軍國歌 "君之代 Kimigayo" 取代。
最後得美國之助, 日本敗走菲律賓。1946年正式完全獨立, Julián Felipe 與 José Palma 的作品經歴148年, 幾次的歌詞編改才制訂成為菲語版國歌。1954年再經編修及新訂國歌名為 "Lupang Hinirang"。1998年《菲律賓國家象徵法》第8491條, 正式制訂菲律賓語 Tagalog 的歌詞為國歌正式歌詞, 憲制訂下:「國歌無論在國內或國外, 必須以菲律賓語 Tagalog 演唱」

NATIONAL ANTHEM - South Africa 《South Africa Anthem 使用最多語言的國歌》
一首讚美詩《天佑南非 Nkosi Sikelel' iAfrika》曲與詞由一位 Methodist 衞理學校老師 Enoch Sontonga 在1897年寫成, 最初是一首教堂讚美詩, 及後成為反對種族隔離的政治歌曲。
另外一首是作家詩人 C. J. Langenhoven 在1918年寫成的詩篇, 後加上1921年由教士 Reverend Marthinus Lourens de Villiers 的樂曲, 成為 《南非的吶喊 Die Stem van Suid-Afrika》。早於1936年至1957年期間《天佑吾王 God Save Our King/Queen》與 《南非的吶喊》是南非共用的國歌。直至1995年後者才成為唯一的國歌。
1994年, Nelson Mandela 曼德拉就職時同採用《天佑南非》和《南非的吶喊》兩首歌曲作為國歌。直到1997年以《天佑南非》重新編改, 用了南非的11種官方語言當中的五種: 科薩語 Xhosa (第一節前兩行)、祖魯語 Zulu (第一節後兩行)、塞索托語 Sesptho (第二節)、南非語 Afrikaans (第三節)、最後的第四節採用了詩篇《南非的吶喊 Die Stem van Suid-Afrika》結尾的四句, 以英語演譯, 作為反影南非後種族隔離的願景, 以此新篇混合形式, 合併成為當今多語言歌詞的國歌。

NATIONAL ANTHEM - Liechtenstein 《Oben am Jungen Rhein 年輕的萊茵河上》
LIECHTENSTEIN 列支敦斯登國歌, 歌詞由一位瑞士牧師 Jakob Josef Jauch (1802–1859) 撰寫於1850年, 而樂曲取自英國的《God Save Our King 天佑吾王》, 但完成後衹作普通的歌曲而已。
列支敦士登, 當年被認為是羅馬帝國殘存的附屬, 是德意志邦聯的一員。而早於1840年, 法國宣示了對萊茵河左岸的主權 (1840年的萊茵危機), 觸發了一系列的日耳曼萊茵河歌曲的局勢, 其中以《誰守衞在萊茵河上》(Die Wacht am Rhein) 一曲最為知名, 以抗行法國對此的纷爭。
1866年, 德意志聯邦瓦解, 隨後宣佈中立, 脱離任何附屬。1920年, 此歌曲被採用為國歌, 原有五段, 全以歌頌德意志與萊茵河的歌詞, 至1963年, 原歌曲被修短, 原文的第二、第三、第四段全被停唱, 修改後祇唱原來的第一與第五段, 而當中引用到有"德意志" 一詞的均被刪除, (第一句歌詞原為「Oben am deutschen Rhein」在德意志的萊茵河上), 把 "Deutschen-德意志" 改為 "Jungen-年輕", 成為了列支敦士登的國歌的名稱 《Oben am Jungen Rhein》。

當年亦有一首同是出自 Routher 的 "Chant National 國家贊美詩" 已普遍流傳成為法語的國歌。這新撰寫的法文歌曲 "O Canada" 面世後不久, 與1867年已流傳的 "God Save The Queen" 與及 "The Maple Leaf Forever" 三曲均未能制訂成為加拿大國歌。
Adolphe-Basile Routhier 1839-1920
1901年, Cornwall 公爵與夫人 (即後來的 King George V 與 Queen Marry) 到訪加拿大期間, 這三首歌曲皆由學生唱出以歡迎公爵蒞臨。至 1908年 Robert Stanley Weir (1856-1926) 再為 "O Canada" 這曲撰寫另一英文歌詞以配合法文之意。事實上此版本的 "O Canada" 已於1939年早已成為國歌, 但直到1980年7月1日 (加拿大國慶日), 這英、法兩種官方語言版本才正式被認訂成為加拿大國歌。

1990年國會欲將原英文版第二句, 有本土主義的 "our home and native land" 修改為 "our home and cherished land", 但最後未能通過議决。
而第三句原是 "thou dost in us command 我們-us" 則改成 "in all thy sonscommand 你的兒子-thy sons", 這一句有宗教含意的詞彙, 是為了"land" 和
"command" 的押韻, 詞的順序和一般的口語順序差別很大。

NATIONAL ANTHEM - Estonia 《Mu isamaa, mu õnn ja rõõm 我的土地, 我的歡愉》
Estonia 愛沙尼亞國歌, 原曲始於1869年的一次全國音樂節演出, 很快便成為一首對喚醒國民的歌曲, 1920年獨立戰爭, 脫離沙俄後更一度成為愛沙尼亞國歌。
1940年6月, 蘇軍佔領了波羅的海三國, 8月1日蘇共的37周年黨慶當天設立為蘇聯直轄的加盟共和國, 成為蘇聯歷史上的第十七個加盟共和國之一。愛沙尼亞蘇維埃社會主義共和國 (愛沙尼亞語：Eesti Nõukogude Sotsialistlik Vabariik, 俄語: Эстонская Советская Социалистическая Республика), 簡稱 Estonia 愛沙尼亞。
1941年, 蘇德戰爭爆發, 納粹德國入侵愛沙尼亞, 至1944年, 蘇聯重新取回愛沙尼亞, 由1945年開始, 原國歌被禁止再使用。1990年蘇聯瓦解, 直至1991年再宣佈正式脫離蘇維埃聯邦體制而獨立, 愛沙尼亞宣佈將國名更改為愛沙尼亞共和國, 再度確定 《 我的土地, 我的歡愉 Mu isamaa, mu õnn ja rõõm 》 為國歌。
這國歌的歌詞作者為 Johann Voldemar Jannsen, 而樂譜則與 Finland 芬蘭國歌《Maamme - 我們的國家 My Native Land》和現居於 Lativa 拉脫維亞的 Livonian 拉沃尼亞人的國歌 《Min izāmō - My Fatherland 》三曲均出自作曲家 Fredrik Pacius 的同一樂譜, , 而歌詞也頗為相似。

NATIONAL ANTHEM - Sweden 《Du gamla, du fria 汝古老、汝自由》
瑞典國歌, 英譯《Thou Ancient, Thou Free 》, 原曲名稱《Sång till Norden 》-"Song to the North", 歌詞作者是 Richard Dybeck 於1844年寫成, 並由 Edvin Kallstenius 取材自古老民謠的樂曲, 將兩段歌詞編上。
Richard Dybeck 編寫的兩段歌詞均體現當時盛行的 Scandinavia 北國主義 (丹麥, 挪威, 瑞典, 芬蘭等國), 而實際上當中並沒有提及過瑞典這名字。多年來有些人想在歌詞中凸顯瑞典的國名, 如歌劇演員 Carl Fredrik Lundqvist 曾編寫第三段歌詞, 首句為"我愛你瑞典", 而這段歌詞影響了後來 Louise Ahlén 在1910年所編寫的兩段歌詞。雖然他補上的第四段中亦有提及瑞典這名字, 但一般場合中很少會唱這段。
跟其他國家的國歌不同, 瑞典官方從來沒有正式把此曲制訂為國歌。但傳統上由1890年第一次被認為是愛國歌曲, 但幾番議論仍不能制定為國歌, 1938年始於當地一廣播電台的 Sveriges Radio 以此曲於每晚的節目完結時播出, 及後在正式場合; 如國事塲合和體育活動的升旗禮時, 也是奏此曲代表瑞典。在瑞典國內演唱時一般唱前兩段, 在國際場合一般只唱第一段。
